Earlobes have a good amount of blood flow, and the piercing site heals quickly, usually in approximately 4-6 weeks. Cartilage piercings, on the other hand, take longer to heal and require more aftercare.

The primary difference with cartilage piercing is aftercare. We strongly advise that you should not twist the jewellery as this can make the cartilage slower to heal.

Ear piercing can be safe and simple, but there are some important guidelines to follow when you get it done.

We can advise you on what to expect during the piercing and how to take care of your ear afterwards, which will cut your chances of infection. You’ll probably notice some tenderness, redness or discolouration, and crusting in the first few days. These symptoms are normal, but if they hang around or get worse, we recommend that you visit a healthcare professional to check for possible infection and treatment.
